TACKLING CRIMINALITY: POLICE HIGH COMMAND UNVEILS KOREDE BELO AS 1st NPF YOUTH AMBASSADOR.

As part of efforts towards involving Nigerian Youths in the fight against criminality, drugs, cultism and kidnapping, the Nigerian Police leadership has inaugurated Nigerian music crooner and ā€˜I don get alertā€™ star, Korede Bello as the ā€œFirst Nigerian Police Youth Ambassador.
According to the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase, the role of Korede Bello will be ā€˜an assignment of responsibility, which individually and collectively comprise the role of propagating and enlightening other youths on the need to collaborate with the Nigerian Police force and other security agencies in advancing the fight against crime and criminality across the country.
Speaking at the inauguration at Force headquarters, Arase who was represented by DIG Dan Azumi Doma noted that though ā€œit is a new role; we believe he will wholeheartedly do it with the best of his interest and ability.
ā€œKorede Bello has no doubt exhibited a potent behaviour that has captured the hearts of Nigerians; He is humble, respectable and well disciplined. Above all, we believe Korede Bello will be a positive representation of the Nigerian Youths Police Force.
Continuing, IGP Arase said ā€œMy vision of the Police is one that that is well loved by the citizens like they love Korede Bello. A police force that is civil but passionate about its mandate. A police force that like Korede holds a promising future. One that the nation can truly be proud of as they are of koredeā€.
Emphasizing that ā€œNo single organization, no security agency, not even the Nigerian police force as a whole can determine the security of the countryā€ the IGP said, ā€œThe youths The citizens, particularly the youths are the potential security agents and a deciding factor in the security of this country by their youthful propensity.
ā€œThey see what others cannot see, hear what others cannot hear and perform what others cannot. Therefore they require a particular and purposeful placement and positioning in our security sector.ā€
Earlier Police spokesperson, ACP Olabsisi Kolawole said the opportunity would build awareness and foster development of the youths.
ā€œI do hope that this new opportunity given the Nigerian youths will be judiciously utilized by preaching positive changes to their peers all over the countryā€™ā€™, he said.
In his acceptance speech, Bello promised to work with the police to ensure that youths do not engage in crimes.
ā€œI promise to do my best, we the youths of this country will not disappoint youā€™ā€™, he said.
He said that before now, there had not been any relationship between the police and the entertainment industry.
