FCT POLICE NAB ROBBERS WHO KILLED 6 IN ABUJA, SMASH 5 MAN ‘ONE CHANCE GANG’ FROM OSUN STATE.

Following a swift response to distress calls, the Police in the federal capital territory have arrested two members of an armed robbery gang that invaded Pyakasa, a suburb located along the Airport Road Abuja killed 6 persons and snatched two vehicles, a Toyota Venza and Mercedes ML jeeps stolen by the robbers.
The swift response of the Police however led to the recovery of the two vehicles while two of the robbers were arrested in different parts of the FCT one hour later.
Also, 5 members of a one-chance gang from Osun state who specialize in robbing innocent passengers of their wares including money, handsets and jewelry were at the weekend arrested in the cause of one of their criminal act.
Furthermore, residents of Dawaki suburb in the FCT were saved the orgy of armed robbers attack last week when the police acting on a tip-off, swooped on a gang of robbers, arrested them and recovered 3 double barrel guns, 1 pump action gun, 50 live cartridges and 41 pieces of empty shell cartridges, as they had mobilized and were about to proceed to unleash terror on innocent residents of the community.
Making the disclosures yesterday, FCT Police Commissioner, CP Wilson Inalegwu noted that the robbers who attacked Pyakasa at about 12pm last Friday, shot and killed the 6 innocent persons because they thought they were out to foil their criminal intent.
Luck however ran out for them when following distress calls, the Police mobilized to the scene resulting in the police recovering the Toyota Venza car and arresting the driver while the other robbers abandoned the Mercedes ML car at Kabusa junction when the saw police checking out such vehicle.
About 45 minutes later, one of the robbers who had jumped into a Taxi to escape, was apprehended by eagle-eyed policemen at Central Area district who noticed his unease at a checkpoint. When he was asked to alight from the Taxi and searched, the keys of the Mercedes Benz ML were found on him and when the car was opened, some live cartridge ammunitions were found inside the car.
Regarding the one-chance suspects, CP Inalegwu said Taiye Ajayi, Segun Folorunsho, Oluwaseun Adeleye, Taiye Idowu and Musa Ahmed have been perpetrating the act for the last two years but proactive measures put in place enabled the police to bust the gang.
“The hoodlums who normally hide in the booth of their vehicles to rob unsuspecting passengers of their vehicles have been coming from Osun state to attack innocent individuals in the FCT” the CP said.
Meanwhile, a cattle rustling gang which succeeded in stealing 108 cows and 18 rams from Kaduna and moved them to Abuja, have been arrested by the FCT Police following a tip-off.
According to CP Inalegwu, the suspects, Musa Magagi, Abubakar Sule, Yahaya Suleiman, Garba Musa and Suleiman Abubakar were arrested at Chitima village following a raid at their hideout. Exhibits recovered from them include 2 dane guns, one locally made revolver, one locally made pistol, one double barrel gun, one magazine and a cutlass.
