FCT POLLS: CP Inalegwu warns trouble Makers.
FCT Police Commissioner, Mr. Wilson Inalegwu, has said the police are fully prepared to deal with anybody that is planning to cause trouble before, during and after the March 19, council elections in the territory.
Speaking during a town hall meeting with representatives of political parties, religious leaders, youth/women groups and clerics, security agencies and other stakeholders on Wednesday in Abaji, the police commissioner said that enough security will be deployed across all polling units
He called on politicians not to see election as a do or die affair, saying a politician who lost at an election can still win in future elections.
He added that a politician who wants to win an election should do what his people want.
He stressed the need for synergy between residents of the council and the police, while urging residents to be always courageous in giving useful information to the police that will assist in arresting perpetrators of crimes in the area.

“One of the challenges we have is that, each time we have people who come to give us information, they will even want to follow the police to go and arrest such suspects, which is not supposed to be so.
Once you have given information, stay by the side and see how we conduct it, if you are not satisfied, report to the commissioner of police,” he said.
The police commissioner disclosed that the command has on a regular basis dismissed and demoted officers that are found wanting in the course of their duties.
The police commissioner also said the police command was fully prepared to deal with any officer calpable of misconduct.
Also speaking, the council chairman, Alhaji Yahaya Garba Gawu, urged residents of the council to always report any suspicious persons in their midst, instead of hiding such persons.
He also expressed concern over the high rate of drug abuse among the youth.
“It is the drugs that entice some body to go and do what he is not supposed to do. As such we need to organize ourselves; we need to organize our children. We should be able to know what our children are doing,” he said.
