40th Day Fidau Prayer for late Alhaja Maryam Bakare, Mother of CAB, Major General Bakare holds at Ilara Mokin, Ondo State.

    The 40th Day Fidau Prayer of late Alhaja Abeni Omoobimininu Maryam Bakare, mother of Major General Raheem Adekola Bakare, the Chief of Accounts and Budget, Nigerian Army, took place at Ilara Mokin, Ondo state on Saturday 7th, September 2019.

    Alhaja Maryam Bakare who was born on 26th September 1941 was married to Alhaji Sule Bakare and the marriage which lasted over 60 years was blessed with four children namely Mr. Yisa Adelanke Bakare, Major General Raheem Adekola Bakare, Mrs. Aderonke-Bakare Sodeke, and Mrs. Adeola-Bakare Oseni.

    The Fidau prayer session was conducted by the Chief Imam of Ilara Mokin.

    Dignitaries at the occasion came from far and near and they included family members, relations, military officers, the corporate world and tradition rulers.

    The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai was represented by the Chief of Logistics at Army headquarters, Major General TI Uniugbe.

    Also present were the General Officer Commanding 2 division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, Major General Omozojie, the Chief of Logistics at Defence headquarters, Major General Sodunke, the Chief of Account and Budget, Defence headquarters, Major General Jakko and Chairman, Military Pensions Board, Major General AB Adamu.

    Others include Commandant, Nigerian Army Logistics School, Major General Uzamere, Commander Corps of Army Engineers, Major General Malu, Commandant, Army War College, Nigeria, Major General Ofoche, Military Secretary, Army, Brigadier General Ochigbano, former Chairman MPB Brigadier General Adesope, Provost Marshal, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Ahmed, Major General Dauke, former Director, Army Public Relations, Brigadier General SK Usman (rtd).

    Maj Gen Yero, Maj Gen Olukoju, Maj Gen Oni, Director of Procurement, DHQ, and Maj Gen Bamidele Shaffa, Director of Operations, DIA were also at the Fidau prayers.

    Former CABs present included Major General Toun (rtd), Major General Muraina (rtd), former Chairman Military Pensions Board, Major General BVT Kwaji (rtd).

    From the traditional institution came the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Olasupo Adejuwon Adetuyi and his Olori, as well as the evergreen Chief ‘Commander’ Ebenezar Fabiyi among others.
