     CHILDREN’S DAY: FCT CP ASSURES OF ADEQUATE SECURITY.

    As Children in the Federal Capital Territory join their counterparts across the globe to commemorate the 2016 Children’s Day celebration slated for Friday, 27th May, 2016, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Wilson has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers in the Command to beef up security at all recreational centers, parks and spots where children will converge to commemorate the historic event.

     

    A statement by the Public Relations Officer for the Command, ASP Anjuguri Mamzah noted that, “The Command has identified and deployed both uniformed and plain-clothes Police operative for the provision of security at strategic spots that will likely be a beehive of activities to mark the event.

    “Similarly, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Wilson Inalegwu recently received members of the FCT Children Parliament Committee on Child Protection who paid him a courtesy visit as part of their activities for the 2016 Children’s Day Celebration.

    Welcoming the Children to the Command, the CP enjoined them to obey their parents and always see themselves as good ambassadors of Nigeria who must eschew associating themselves with criminal activities or gangs that will mar their bright and promising future. 

    He also assured the children that the FCT Police Command is committed to the protection of their rights.

    Speaking on behalf of the Children, the Leader of the Delegation and Chairman of the FCT Children Parliament Committee on Child Protection, Hon Habiba Diri applauded the FCT Police Command for being alive to its responsibilities and appealed for measures to be put in place to protect the rights of FCT Children.
