COAS Leads Troops in Early Morning 15 Km Route March Exercise in Abuja.

    The Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen TY Buratai led troops including Principal Staff Officers, Commanders and Directors to an early morning 15 kilometers route march/endurance trekking on Friday the 22th of February 2019.

    Principal Staff Officers, Commanders and Directors as usual attended the exercise.

    Lt Gen Buratai used the opportunity to address the troops and enjoined them to exercise regularly in the areas of route march, morning physical training and evening games in order to be physically and mentally fit to effectively confront the myriad of security challenges across the nation.

    He charged all the troops and the entire NIgerian Army personnel to be dedicated, committed, discipline and loyal to constituted authorities at all times for the benefit of the NA and the nation.

    He further enjoined the troops and indeed the entire personnel of the Nigerian Army to ensure the peaceful, secured and credible conduct of the 2019 general elections.

    He on behalf of the entire officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, expressed appreciation and unalloyed loyalty to the President, Commander in Chief for the upward review of allowances and regular supply of military stores/wares which accounted for the resurgence of the successes recorded in the fight against terrorism in the North East. He commended the personnel for their dedication and sacrifices and urged them to do more, remain focus and maintain the momentum.

    The physical training exercise is part of the route march exercise to cap this year’s annual physical training test.

    Being a leader, who always leads by example, he today led troops including Principal Staff Officers, Commanders and Directors to the marathon route march to the admiration of both officers and soldiers that participated.

    Speaking after the route march, the COAS posited that the exercise is an annual event for the NA aimed at keeping officers and soldiers fit physically and mentally to effectively face assigned constitutional roles.

    According to him “This is a scheduled NA activity aimed at keeping troops in a state of sound physical and mental fitness to enable them to carry out constitutional roles effectively. Once you pass the test, you are good to go for the year.

    ‘As you all know, this year is full of activities such as Operations Egwu eke 111, Corocodile smile, Safe Haven and others in aid to civil authority as enshrined in the nation’s Constitution”,

    He called on troops to remain loyal, dedicated and patriotic to the Nation .The Army Chief congratulated troops in the fields especially those fighting terrorism in the North East for the recent successes.

    He emphasised his readiness to continuously support the personnel of the Nigerian Army in the area of improving their welfare and that of their families through Barracks Investment Initiative among other ways.
