KATSINA POLICE COMMAND LIST’s ACHIEVEMENTS in CRIME-FIGHTING

Katsina State Command has continued to deliver on its mandate of protecting the lives and property of the people of the state.

The Katsina State Police Command has been achieving results in the fight against crime due to the rapport that exists between the security stakeholders and the cooperation of well-meaning people in the state.

In recent times, the command has made some breakthroughs as abridged hereunder by CP BD Gwana, Police Commissioner of the state.

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, MISCHIEF AND BEING IN POSSESSION OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS:  On 20/10/2017 at about 18:30hrs, five herds-men armed with dangerous weapons set their cattle and sheep into the villagers’ farm land at Daddara village, Jibia and destroyed cash crops worth thousands of Naira.  The suspects apprehended were:

Usman Alkali ‘m’ of Madarunfa village, Halilu Ummaru ‘m’ of Saran Maradi village, Ibrahimi Yahaya ‘m’ of Madarunfa Village, Isyaka Aiki ‘m’ of Milla Village, Usman Haruna ‘m’ of Maisaje Village all of Niger Republic.

EXHIBIT RECOVERED: One Dane Gun, Six Bows, Six Bunches of Arrows, Four Cutlasses, Camouflage Sweater, Investigation into this case is ongoing.

ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN MOTORCYCLE:  On 31/10/2017 the Command succeeded and arrested one Rabi’u Sani ‘m’ of Gidan Dambi village, Danmusa LGA of Katsina state impossession of a motorcycle Boxer unregistered belonging to one Aminu Abubakar ‘m’ of the same address, who was killed three months ago by Armed robbers in Abuja and the said motorcycle was taken away by the robbers.

However, on 31/10/2017 the motorcycle was found in the possession of the suspect Rabi’u Sani who could not prove its ownership.  Investigation into this case is ongoing.

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, ARMED ROBBERY AND BELONGING TO GANG OF THIEVES:  On 31/10/2017 at about 19:30hrs, the Command succeeded and arrested one Salisu Hamisu ‘m’ of  Kwari Mai-Zurhi Village, Batsari LGA of Katsina state, a notorious armed robbery suspect and a suspected cattle rustler, whom with others now at large, armed themselves with dangerous weapons, blocked Namai-Jame – Karewa feeder road, Batsari LGA, Katsina state attacked and robbed one Adamu Dahiru ‘m’ of Karewa village, Batsari LGA of Katsina state of his money the sum of one hundred and sixty thousand Naira (N160,000:00K) after inflicting serious injuries on him.

Effort is on with a view to arresting other members of the gang and to recover their operational weapons.

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, BELONGING TO GANG OF THIEVES, THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE AND BEING IN POSSESSION OF FABRICATED KEY:  On 3/11/2017 at about 23:30hrs, the Command busted a syndicate of Car thieves/snatchers and arrested one Wisdon Azubuke ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Obokwu Obidi, Oguta LGA of Imo State whom with others now at large, used a fabricated key and opened the door of motor vehicle Toyota Carina ‘E’ with registration number AA 4335 FN, Chasis No. JT172ATIC000011112, Light Green in colour valued N950,000:00K belonging to one Emmanuel Okeke ‘m’ of Havana Hotel Katsina.

The suspect was nabbed when he wanted to move out of the hotel with the vehicle.  Investigation into this case is ongoing.

ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND RECOVERY OF ONE CUTLASS AND TWO INFINIX HANDSETS: On 03/11/2017 at about 02:30hrs, the Command succeeded and arrested one Umar Jibrin ‘m’ aged 20yrs of Kofar Soro Quarters, Katsina whom with other suspects now at large, armed with dangerous weapons, invaded a shop at Sabon Layi Quarters, Katsina  and robbed the owners one (1) Aliyu Babangida and (2) Yusuf Ibrahim all ‘m’ of Sabon Layi Quarters, Katsina of their two (2) Infinix GSM Handsets valued N74,000:00k after inflicting serious injuries on them with dangerous weapons.

Suspect has confessed to the crime while effort is on with a view to arrest other members of his gang.

ARREST OF MTN TELECOMMUNICATION MAST VANDALS AND RECOVERY OF SIX BATTERIES, ONE CUTTER, ONE LARGE SCISSORS AND ONE FAKE POLICE ID CARD:  On 29/10/2017 the Command succeeded and arrested one Tasiu Salisu ‘m’ of Hayin Baki village, Birnin Gwari LGA, Kaduna state and Saminu Abubakar ‘m’ 26yrs of Kofar Kaura Katsina who invaded MTN Telecommunication installation No. HIS-KAT 0898 located at Modoji, Katsina, vandalized the facility and attempted to steal its electricity power generating set.

Six Large Rechargeable Batteries, one cutter, One large scissors, Fake Police ID card

Investigation into this case is still ongoing.

ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT AND RECOVERY OF ONE LOCALY MADE PISTOL AND DRIED LEAVES SUSPECTED TO BE INDIAN HEMP:  On 2/11/2017 at about 14:00hrs, base on a tip-off, the Command arrested one Mustapha Ado ‘m’ aged 30yrs of Kumbi village, Baure LGA of Katsina state with one locally made pistol and some quantity of dried leaves suspected to be Indian Hemp.

Suspect is making useful statements. Investigation into the case is ongoing. 

CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND VANDALIZATION OF KEDCO CABLE WIRES:  On 7^th November, 2017 at about 17:00hrs, following a tip-off, the command succeeded and smashed a syndicate of three men that specializes in vandalization and theft of electricity installations.

The trio of 1. Abdulrahaman Musa ‘m’ aged 23yrs of Galadimawa Qrts, Giwa LGA of Kaduna state 2. Zayya Salisu ‘m’ aged 25yrs of Danjanku Village, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state and 3.  Kabiru Abubakar ‘m’ aged 20yrs of Danjanku Village, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state were arrested at Danjanku Village, Malumfashi LGA of Katsina state after vandalizing abandoned Electricity power installations connecting Danjanku and Dayi villages along Malumfashi – Kano road.

The vandalized Aluminium Conductor Cable which is about 200 metres in length was recovered from the suspects.

Suspects confessed to the crime and are assisting the police in our investigation.
