Kidnappers Kill Businessman after collecting N15million ransom
A businessman identified as Mr. Chijioke Anyanwuor resident in Ikot Abasi local government area of Akwa Ibom state has been reported killed by suspected kidnappers.
It was gathered that Anyanwuor a native of Agulu in Anambra state was earlier abducted on February, 25, 2016 in front of his Ikot Abasi residence about 2 am early hours in the morning after returning from a Church programme.
Family sources told newsmen in confidence in Uyo that the kidnappers numbering over five succeeded in blocking their victim and whisked him away in his vehicle to unknown destination.
It was further learnt that he was later killed and buried in a shallow grave in the forest even after his family paid over N15 million naira ransom to his abductors.

The source said, “But two days after the kidnappers contacted the family and demanded huge sum of money. The money was paid it paid at different times and locations as the kidnappers directed.
“We had expected that they would immediate release Mr. Chijioke after the abductors collected seven million but he was not released. Instead after a very short time interval they demanded for more money and even after N15 million was paid they did not free their captive”.
The source said when family requested to hear Chijioke’s voice to ensure he was alive after being held in the kidnappers’ custody for weeks little did they (family) know that he had been murdered and buried. He further disclosed that two months after, the kidnappers were tracked down and apprehended by Department of the Security Service (DSS) in collaboration with Security and Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) in the area.
