As part of the 2018 Guards Brigade Sporting week, a tug of war competition was held between a team belonging to the guest of honour, Major General GDK Myam and Guards Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Umar Tama Musa.
The competition was won by the team of the Brigade Commander.

Present at the very colourful closing ceremony were the Naval Unit Commander in Abuja, representative of the Commander, NAF Camp, Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Presidential Movement at the Villa, Brigadier General Lagbaja who represented CTOP at Army Headquarters, Major General LO Adeosun and representatives of the FRSC, NSCDC, DSS and NAOWA members of the brigade.
Others were from the Army War College (AWC), National Defence College (NDC) and he Nigerian Army Ranch in Abuja.
