Police exhibit keeper suppliers AK 47 Rifles to us for sale – Robbery Kingpin.
An armed robbery and kidnapping kingpin has said that the arms supplier to his gang is an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), who is also the exhibit keeper of recovered arms in the armoury of the Police noting that his gang got 16 AK 47 rifles from the officer which were sold for N250, 000 each.
Oliver Honiol, the mastermind of a 45 member gang, who hails from Song in Adamawa state, made this disclosure while being paraded with other members of the gang,
He disclosed that it was another Policeman, one Sergeant Habila Sarki that introduced him to ASP Yuguda Abbah, the supplier of the arms.
Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Donald Awunah who paraded the suspects and a cache of recovered arms and ammunition, disclosed that the ASP, Sergeant Habila and seven other Police officers who have been aiding and abetting commission of serious crimes, kidnapping, robbery, and cattle rustling in the North East in particular, have all been dismissed for unprofessional conduct.
The other Police officers are Sergeant Diphem Nimmyel, Sergeant Yasan Danda, Sergeant Abbas Mailalle, Sergeant Bwanason Tanko, Sergeant Donan James, Corporal Idris Salisu and Corporal Zakari Kofi.
DCP Awunah said, “In the month of October, 2016; one Alhaji Hodi Adamu, a notorious armed robbery suspect was arrested by the Police in Adamawa State.
“The suspects’ confession led to the arrest of two other suspects namely, Rabo Bello and Oliver Haniol whose voluntary confessions led to the arrest of the nine Police personnel mentioned.
“For the various roles they played through their actions and inactions which are considered disciplinary infractions, the principal suspects and the dismissed police officers will soon be charged to court”.

Some of the exhibits recovered from the gang, are 14 AK 47 rifles with numbers intact, 3 other AK 47 rifles with numbers cleaned out, 1 pump action gun, 1 locally made pistol, 42 empty magazines, 363 rounds of AK 47 live ammunition., 71 K2 live ammunition and 25 live cartridges.
Seven exotic cars of various brands including SUVs are also recovered from the gang.
Another Police Sergeant, Laibi Opakegba who conspired to supply explosives to militants and robbers who have been terrorizing Lagos and Ogun States was paraded with his accomplice, Abiodun Amos aka ‘SENTI’.
Sergeant Opakegba was intercepted discussing with Abiodun Amos on how to source and supply red dynamite to the militants. Abiodun Amos, a 43 year militant and native of Ese-Odo LGA of Ondo state was arrested at the bank of River Majidun in Ikorodu Area of Lagos state in possession of 2 AK 47 rifles. He later named other members of the militant group.
The Police also paraded 4 more dismissed officers for aiding and abetting a vicious kidnapper and armed robbery kingpin in several criminal acts in Kogi State. They are Sergeant Musbahu Yahaya, Sergeant Ugenlo Sylvester, Sergeant Musa Umar and Corporal Omale Edicha.
The policemen who are serving in Kogi state command were arrested for conspiring with one Zakari Ya’u Isiaka, a notorious armed robber, murderer and kidnapper who has been on the wanted list of the Police in the state.
The suspect confessed to having been actively involved in many armed robberies, kidnappings and murder cases within Kogi and North Central States. Five assorted rifles and different calibers of ammunition including 1 assault rifle, 1 Baretta rifle, 2 AK 47 magazines; 3 K2 magazines, 2 G3 magazines and 10 (Ten) 7.62 live ammunition were recovered from them.
Other suspects paraded are Mayo Chadi Aliyu, Atiku Ibrahim, AIi Mohammed, Abdulrahman Umar, Umar Daudu, Ibrahim Umar, Ibrahim Mallam, Adamu Lolo.
Also paraded are Suleiman Buba, Ahmed Adamu, Gidado Garba, Sani Dan Alhaji, Inusa Mohammed, Mohammed Wari, Mohammed Rabiu, Hammadu Abdullahi, Idi Juye and Yusuf Abdullahi.
