    **Says Nigeria Won’t Tolerate Biafra
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that there are some people in his government who are not ‘100 per cent loyal’ to his policies.

Buhari who stated this in an interview he granted to Al Jazeera Television during his recent visit to Qatar, described the controversies trailing the 2016 budget, which he had confirmed was padded, as unfortunate, saying that culprits would be dealt with.

Asked whether he meant there were saboteurs in his government, Buhari answered in the affirmative, exclaiming “Certainly”.
The president said Nigerians should appreciate his administration’s efforts towards reducing the cost of governance.

“I would like people to assess Nigeria, especially this government on where we found ourselves. When we came in, we found out that there were 42 ministries and we found out that the economy could not take 42, so we reduced it to 24.
We also removed 21 permanent secretaries,” he stated.

President Muhammadu Buhari vowed that his administration would not tolerate creation of the Republic of Biafra.

He said those agitating for Biafra were merely joking with the security of the country pointing out that “At least two millions Nigerians were killed in the Biafra war. And for somebody to wake up may be they weren’t born.
“Looking for Biafra after two million people were killed; they are joking with the security and Nigeria won’t tolerate Biafra” Buhari said.

The president also stated that despite the dwindling global oil prices, Nigeria would not opt out of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).

“We were unable to diversify our economy, hence we are much more disadvantaged by the low oil prices and OPEC may try to help us out but really, it is basically our own fault.
“It is not under my leadership that Nigeria will pull out of OPEC. We will make the necessary sacrifice to remain in OPEC.
“OPEC as an organization has to be mindful of economic conditions in each member country because that will influence that country’s ability to go along with its decisions,” he said.

President Buhari reiterated his earlier position that his government would not devalue the Naira.

“If devaluing the Naira is against our national interest, why won’t we go against the IMF advice?” the president asked.

The president also stated that his administration has not failed in the fight against the Boko Haram insurgency.

He said that none of the 774 local government areas in the country is under the control of the insurgents at the moment.
