23 Brigade Nigerian Army commissions projects in Yola.

One of the key components of the Chief of Army Staff’s (COAS) vision which is to have a professionally responsive Nigerian Army in the discharge of its constitutional roles is the welfare of troops and their families.

The effective actualization of the vision is largely hinged on the provision of the welfare needs of the Nigerian Army personnel especially of the soldiers and their families.

It is in line with this that the COAS in his own wisdom initiated and financially and morally supported the Barracks Investment Initiative Programme for the skills acquisition and empowerment of Nigerian Army personnel and their families so as to be self reliant, to earn an income or have gainful employment thereby reducing or eradicating poverty in line with the policy or desire of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

To properly key into the COAS’ vision, the Commander 23 Brigade Brigadier General Sani Mohammed initiated and completed the Ultra Modern Entrepreneurship and Skills Acquisition Centre comprising of tailoring, weaving, barbing, canteen management, bakery and blocks making sections among others.

He also constructed a befitting transit accommodation of 14 single rooms and 2 X suites as well as magnificent Accident and Emergency Ward which were all supported and successfully commissioned by the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai.

Similarly, the Foundation Laying Ceremony of the Perimeter Fencing of Gibson Jalo Cantonment, 23 Brigade, Yola by the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai was successfully done today Saturday the 28th of December, 2019.

The Army chief used the opportunity to Commend and congratulate the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Maj Gen Nuhu Angbazo and his Commanders for ensuring successful completion of the projects and urged them to ensure proper maintenance of the facilities.

He reminded all personnel of the Nigerian Army of their sacred responsibilities of protecting the territorial intergrity of the nation and charge them to remain Steadfast and continue to discharge their duties diligently and professionally.

He commended the government and good people of Adamawa State for their cooperation and support to the Nigerian Army.

The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State Chief Seth Crowther represented the Governor of the State at the occasion.

The Secretary to the Government of Adamawa State and other members of the State Executive Council, Chief of Training and Operations of the Nigerian Army and other Principal Staff Officers from Army Headquarters, General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army.

Others are Heads of Paramilitary and other security agencies, His Royal Highnesses the Lamido of Adamawa Alh Muhammadu Barkindo Musdafa, Hamman Bachama Colonel Irimiya Stephen (rtd) and Amna Shelleng, Alh Dr Isa Dasong and other very important personalities were in attendance.
