Adjutant General, Califonia National Guard visits COAS – Buratai; seeks more Military to Military Collaboration.

In furtherance of bilateral as well as military to military cooperation between the Califonia National Guard of the United States of America and the Nigerian Army, Nigeria’s Arny Chief, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai on Tuesday played host to visiting Adjutant-General of California, Major General David S Baldwin in Abuja.

Addressing the COAS, the Adjutant-General said he was in the country to among other engagements, further the existing excellent bilateral and military cooperation between the Nigerian Army and the California National Guard.

While expressing satisfaction with the progress of the joint partnership programme ongoing with the Nigerian Army, Major General Baldwin said the California National Guard was open to further relationship especially with current security threats facing the nation.

He thanked Lt. General Buratai for receiving him and his delegation despite the COAS tight schedule.

Some of the existing military to military engagements involving training and technical assistance are in the area of Nigerian Army Aviation, Combat Engineers, military intelligence, Counter Improvised Explosive Device Training and Disaster and Emergency Management among others.

Responding, the COAS expressed readiness to improve on the existing relationship with the California National Guard noting that its expertise in the area of Army aviation and provision of a multi-purpose hanger for the Nigerian Army will boost the Nigerian Army aviation .
