Army War College Nigeria to Hold 2022 Annual Interagency Seminar 

 

In a bid to to bridge the knowledge gap between the tactical and strategic levels of leadership in the Nigerian army and other security agencies, the Army War College Nigeria (AWCN) Abuja will hold its annual interagency Seminar with the theme “Appraising the Roles of Civil Society Towards Engendering Effective Internal Security In Nigeria”.

 

A statement signed by the College Public Relations Officer, Major Muhammed Maidawa said the one-day seminar is scheduled to hold on  Thursday, 19 May 2022 in the Tukur Yusuf Buratai Auditorium of the College at WU Bassey Barracks Asokoro, Abuja.

The PRO said  the seminar is part of the Course curriculum for participants of Course 6/2022 and is designed to equip and improve their knowledge on interagency cooperation and coordination as well as enhance their competency in joint environments.

He added that  the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya would be the Special Guest of Honour at the event.

Maidawa noted that the one-day seminar with the theme “Appraising the Roles of Civil Society Towards Engendering Effective Internal Security In Nigeria” would draw participants and discussants from the Armed Forces, Police, Paramilitary agencies,  Civil Society Organisations, and office of the National Security Adviser.

Others are Minister  of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Heads of security agencies, academia, and other non-governmental organizations.

The host is the Commandant Army War College Nigeria, Major General Bamidele Alabi.

The Army War College Nigeria had since inception in 2017, successfully played its primary role of grooming operational level military officers and a select few from relevant Ministries, Department and Agencies in Nigeria for the onerous task of conflict management and defence.
