The Chief of Army Staff (COAS ) Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai on Tuesday 18th November 2019 charged newly promoted officers of the ranks of Brigadier Generals to rise up to the new responsibility of their duties.
Gen. Buratai handed down the charge while decorating the newly promoted Nigerian Army Officers in Abuja.
While admonishing the officers to remain responsive to the troops, he said they should be responsive to challenges that will come their way, in administration, duty and training needs of their units.
He therefore charged them to remain steadfast and resolute in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking earlier, the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed Sani Usman advised promoted Officers to expect more responsibilities as they attained another level in their endeavour.
He said, “promotion comes with other responsibilities, as to whom much is given, much is being expected ”.
He therefore urged them to uphold the doctrine of the service.
Also speaking, the Chief of Policy and Plans, Lt. Gen. Lamido Adeosun while congratulating the affected officers, called on the officers to be considerate in taking any decision that will be beneficial to NA and the nation.
The decorated officers were 23 officers, 22 colonels were promoted to the rank of Brigadier Generals while 1 Brigadier General was promoted to Major General.
