Defence Minister, NDLEA Chairman, Task Serving Military Officers on Book Writing; As AVM Olatunde Launches Book in Abuja

 

 

Minister Of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (Retd) and the Chairman/Chief Executive of NDLEA, Brig. Gen Buba Marwa (Retd) have both tasked serving Senior Military Officers to engage often in book writing, to promote reading culture among personnel and to reserve their vast military experiences for future learning.

Gen Magashi stated this at a Public Presentation/Book Launch titled ” Analytical Frameworks for Applying Critical Thinking to Operational Planning and Resolving Insurgency with Net Assessment” written by Air Vice Marshal Sayo Olatunde, Commandant Airforce Force War College Nigeria in Abuja.

The book which has 12 Chapters and 337 Pages was commended by dignitaries as a contribution to finding lasting solution to the nation’s security challenges.

Speaking at the book launch, Chairmanof the National Drug Law Enforcent Agency (NDLEA), Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, (Retd) said he had over the years, encouraged military officers to engage in book writing, to expand the frontiers of their knowledge in the services.

 

He said book writing had always been his expectations from military officers, adding that, the military had been in the forefront of research and development throughout contemporary history.

Marwa said the military had over the years, excelled in research, discoveries and innovations, especially in the areas of medicine and technology.

He commended the author of the book, whom he said, is a brilliant military professional, pilot, author, instructor, thinker and strategist.

The Book Reviewer, Mallam Shuaib Yushau while reviewing the Work, praised the author for the usage of Net Assessment and other variables in addressing Insurgency.

He said the 337 Pages of the 12 Chapters of the book Analytical Frameworks for Applying Critical Thinking to Operational Planning and Resolving Insurgency with Net Assessment was a timely material to guide decision makers, especially in counter insurgency operations in six geopolitical zones of the Country.

 

Mallam Shuaib said the book was not only good for military officers, but also intelligence and policy makers, as it provided practical solutions to policy making process to provides lasting Solution to Nation’s Security Challenges.

He said the book had recommended three critical thinking for every decision making, to give room for good analysis on how to carry out the operations.

In his remarks,
author of the book and Commandant Air Force War College Nigeria, Air Vice Marshal Sayo Olatunde, said his focus in writing the book was to address some of the problems discovered in the planning and management of military operations

Air Vice Marshal Olatunde said the Book was a Product of Enormous Military Operations Experiences.

Dignitaries at the book launch included thr representative of the Minster of Defence Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi ( Rtd), Chief of Air Staf,f Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, FCT minister Mohammed Musa Bello, National Security Adviser NSA Babagana Monguno, Service Chiefs and some top government Officials.
