Excitement in Maxwell Khobe Cantonment as ITF trains soldiers families in skills acquisition

The Industrial Training Fund (ITF) in collaboration with Headquarters 3 Division, Nigerian Army under the leadership of Maj Gen Nuhu Angbazo has trained wives, widows and children of officers and soldiers of Maxwell Khobe Cantonment in skills acquisition.

The skills Acquisition programme tagged Passion to Profession, painstakingly tutored participants on Pattern Grafting and Garment making and is aimed at equipping participants with required skills for entrepreneurship, employability and wealth creation, using Brazilian Model of Mobile Training Units.

In his remarks at the closing ceremony of the training programme held at the Cantonment’s Multipurpose Hall the GOC stated that the skills acquisition training is the Division’s modest contribution in keying into the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai’s Barracks Investment Initiative Programme (BIIP) which is geared towards improving the socio-economic wellbeing of Officers and Soldiers of the Nigerian Army.

He maintained that his desire to empower members of the Cantonment Community through capacity building necessitated his arrangement for the programme.

While thanking the Director General of ITF Sir Joseph N Ari for not only approving the programme but also providing enormous resources to sustain it.

He therefore urged participants to utilize maximally the skills acquired during the training for the benefit of their families and the society at large.

Highlights of the ceremony were the presentation of sculptured Rhinoceros which is 3 Division’s Mascot to the Director General by the GOC and presentation of certificates and Start – up Parks to 30 participants of the training.

Many Dignitaries graced the ceremony including; Commanders, Heads of Security Agencies, Senior Officers both serving and retired and civilian friends of the Division.
