FCT Police Nab/Parade 47 Armed Robbers, Cultists & Serial Rapist;

The FCT Police Command on Thursday paraded 47 criminal suspects including the notorious armed robbery gang terrorizing members of the public around the National Mosque and a serial rapist, who specialize in jumping on and attacking female victims in the night around Garki, Area 3 junction.
Also paraded are ten (10) cultists/armed robbers of Aro Baga confraternity aged between 20 and 25 years who had been terrorizing residents of Karmo community of Abuja.
Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma during the parade, said, “A sting operation on 15th January, 2020, by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad led to the arrest of eight suspected armed robbers operating around National Mosque.
He noted that the operation will continue by operatives of the Command to put an end to the criminal activities of hoodlums who hibernate around the national mosque to attack and rob unsuspecting members of the public.
Suspects arrested during the special operation are Aliyu Abubakar 20years, Musa Ado 35years, Abdul Kabir 17 years, Aminu Haruna 14years, Adam Awal 16years, Zayyad Isah 30years, Ismail Abubakar 16years, Yakubu Musa 15 years all male of no fixed address.
On the arrest of the rapist, CP Ciroma said, “On 17th January, 2020 at about 7pm, following a complaint, one Akan Bernard, a serial rapist was arrested by Police operatives from Durumi Division for attacking and raping his female victims in the bush around Area 3 junction.
“The suspect who operates mostly at night has confessed to the crime was arrested after one of his victims on sighting him alerted the Police patrol who immediately swung into action and arrested him. Meanwhile, another victim has also identified suspect as the person who raped her some time back”.
The victim, who told reporters that he is usually pushed into the act by a powerful urge, claimed he doesn’t enjoy doing it.
Continuing the CP said, “In furtherance with the on-going effort of the Command to check the menace of cultism in some communities in the Federal Capital Territory, operatives of the Command Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) acting on credible intelligence arrested nine suspected cultists that are notorious for terrorizing Karimo and its environs.

The suspects who were all arrested in Karimo include Lucky Ejinung 22years, Ifeanyi Okenwa, Joseph John 25years, Ikechukwu Ibe 23years, Okoro Johnson 22years, Ikechukwu Onu 25years, Monday Audu 23years, Ikenna Nwenze 20years, Matthew Tanko 21years and Isa Mohammed 22years all male who all belong to the Aro baga confraternity were arrested in Karimo.
Exhibits recovered by the Police after the various operations include 9 firearms, 125 rounds of ammunition, a Lexus Jeep, 74 stolen phones, 10 Cutlasses, one Keke Napep, Plasma TV sets, knives and some quantities of Indian Hemp.

Fake Aide to Senate President.

Continuing, the CP said, “On 17TH January, 2020 following a complaint Police operatives from Gwarinpa Division arrested one Abdul Hassan Kadala 27years, who poses as an aid to the Senate President to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
“The suspect was arrested at a bank in Gwarinpa while trying to withdraw money sent to his account, by a victim, as proceed of the crime.
“According to the suspect who fraudulently extort money from his victims under the guise of assisting them to secure government contracts, the total sum of four hundred and twenty thousand (420,000.00) naira have been paid into his bank account.

Exhibit recovered; an Identity card carrying the National Assembly logo. The suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of investigation.
“On 18th January, 2020 acting on tip-off Police Operatives attached to the Surveillance team of Kubwa Division arrested Twelve (12) notorious armed robbery suspects; Paul Moses, Auwalu Abubakar, Nasifu Mohammed, Oche Printed, Sarajo Abdullahi, Ibrahim Sani, Abubakar Idris, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Husseini Musa, Abdulrahaman Musa and Ibrahim Idris all men of no fixed address.
“The suspects are behind a recent robbery incident in the area.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects are; Five (5) Cutlasses, Five (5) Plastma TVs, Fifty Five (48) Phones, Two (2) Laptop, one (1) Ipad and one (1) MP3. Investigation is still ongoing.

The Commissioner of Police used the occasion to warn criminals to stay away from the FCT saying, “I want to particularly advice all persons nursing the thought of perpetrating any criminal act in FCT that they should either beat a retreat, and repent for good or be prepared to be dealt with in accordance with the appropriate sections of the law, when arrested.”
