FOC Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral Dewu Leads Officers and Ratings in 2nd Quarter Route March in Calabar

Officers and Ratings of the Eastern Naval Command of the Nigerian Navy on Saturday July 2nd 2022 participated in the Second Quarter Route March in Calabar.
Flag Officer of the Eastern Command, Rear Admiral Ibrahim Dewu who led officers and men during the march, disclosed that the route march is aimed at developing personnel physical and mental alertness to meet the dynamics of contemporary security operations.
“It is also targeted at fostering esprit de corps and providing an avenue for relaxation.
While noting that physical fitness and mental alertness are essential for combat readiness of Service personnel at all times, the FOC added,  It is important to state that, operational efficiency and combat readiness are predicated on mental and physical fitness of the personnel.
Rear Admiral Dewu emphasized that it is against this backdrop that, “Fitness and mental alertness are among the critical elements of the Chief of Naval Staff’s policy thrust.
“Therefore, this Route March is targeted at keeping us fit for optimal performance in the discharge of our constitutional roles as naval personnel” he said.
