GOC 2 div receives Chairperson, NAOWA, 2 div chapter, Mrs. Bose Onozogie & entourage on courtesy visit.

The General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen Anthony Bamidele Omozoje on Monday received the Chairperson, Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association 2 Division Chapter Mrs Stella Bose Omozoje and members of her entourage to Headquarters 2 Division Nigerian Army, Adekunle Fajuyi Cantonment, Ojoo – Ibadan on courtesy visit.

The GOC described NAOWA as an organisation that has tremendously benefited the Nigerian Army and the nation.

According to the GOC the organisation has added value to many lives through education, healthcare, skill acquisition and other civil/military cooperation activities, especially in host communities.

He further said that Internal Displaced Persons in camps in the north east and in other parts of the the nation has come to recognise NAOWA as an organisation that has put smile on their faces.

The GOC described the organisation as a charity organisation adding value to lives in the country.

He stressed his readiness to support the activities of the Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association 2 Division Chapter.

Meanwhile,the GOC 2 Division Nigerian Army Maj Gen Omozoje paid a condolence visit to the family of late Maj Gen Joseph Aiyowieren Okunbor at the Ibadan residence of the Okunbors.

The GOC was at the residence with some of his Principal Staff Officers and the Chairperson Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association, 2 Division Chapter, Mrs Stella Bose Omozoje and some members of the organisation.

The GOC visited the family on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Yusuf Buratai, Officers and men of 2 Division.

Maj Gen Omozoje described the late General to be an exemplary leader whose loss is irreplaceable to the family, the Nigerian Army and the nation.

Late General Okunbor held many appointments, at junior and senior leadership levels. Held command, staff and instructional responsibilities.

He was Provost Marshall, Nigerian Army and before his retirement was Commander, Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command, Minna, Niger State.

Among others, Late Maj Gen Joseph Aiyowieren Okunbor held Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) Award.

The GOC 2 Division, and the Chairperson Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association 2 Division Chapter Mrs Stella Bose Omozoje prayed for the repose of the soul of the General and the fortitude for his family, Nigerian Army and the nation to bear the loss.
