The General Officer Commanding (GOC)1 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja has pledged his continuous support and collaboration with Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) and Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI) both in Jaji, Kaduna State.
General Lagbaja stated this during separate maiden courtesy visits to the Commandant AFCSC, Air Vice Marshal OA Tuwase and the Commandant NASI Major General MG Ali.
In his remarks at the AFCSC, the GOC said he was at the highly respected institution to formally introduce himself to the Commandant, seek his blessings and assure him of the Division’s continued support and synergy.
He thanked the Commandant for all his assistance and support to 1 Division Nigerian Army.
Responding, AVM Tuwase appreciated the GOC for his visit while thanking him for all the roles the Division has been playing in support of AFCSC.
He particularly commended the GOC for the Division’s recent successes in the fight against banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in the Division’s Area of Responsibility.
In a similar vein, General Lagbaja thanked the Commandant NASI, Maj Gen MG Ali and his team of instructors for providing the requisite training for officers and soldiers of the Division which he said has assisted in boosting the combat efficiency of the troops.
He also assured the Commandant NASI of the Division continuous support and collaboration.
Responding, the Commandant NASI congratulated the GOC on his well deserved appointment and wished him a successful tour of duty.
He used the event to reassure the GOC of all necessary support and required collaboration.
Highlights of the visits were inspection of quarter guard, signing of visitors book, exchange of souvenirs, guided tour of NASI Simulation Centre and group photographs.
