It’s a great honor for me to be the recipient of the 2019 SEAMA Award for Excellence. It’s indeed a privilege to be the first journalist to win this award in Nigeria.
Awards, no doubt, are always recognition of your endeavors and professional commitments; a source of encouragement, inspiration, fulfillment and gratifying which boosts your spirit and a drive that enkindles new fire inside you to steer into new challenges.

Well this is a thrill. I really wanted to win this award because of the criteria involved: originality, excellence social responsibility, diversity, originality, independence, courage, resilient and professional approach in the management of security and Emergency situations in Nigeria.
And it’s something that I and my colleagues — strive for every day.
Not always successfully, but we sure do try and these are values that we live with every day.
I therefore, dedicate this award to the unsung heroes of journalism in Northeast Nigeria, who sacrificed their lives for the cause of their profession.
I am grateful to Almighty Allah , my wife Nana Aisha Umar, my Boss Alhaji Rabiu Sani Ali, who gave me all the morale support, great friends and the organizations I worked with, for their utmost support in my career.
