In continuation of the annual Comptroller General (CG) of Immigration 2019 workshop holding in Benin, Mr. Muhammad Babandede, the CGI on Friday delivered an expert paper on Reforms in the ‘Nigeria Immigration Service; Practical Approaches to Achieving Success,
In the expert paper, Babandede took a look at the various regimes of passport issuance and administration, Visa issuance and process, Border Management and Security and Migration Management.

He also expatiated on Strategic Communications and public engagement, Service Delivery and Hostmanship at NIS Service windows, Digitization of NIS facilities and processes, Eradication of third party in the procurement of NIS facilities and touting, Ease of Doing Business and NIS.
Participants were broken into groups into syndicates of five each.
They deliberated on Passport, Documents and process Reforms, Migrant e-registration, NIS Border Management Strategy and implementation among others.
A statement by DCI Sunday James, Spokesman NIS said “The groups are expected to work as a group in technical working sessions, and make presentations for adoption of communiqué that will guide the NIS in its road map and dealings with our publics.”
