Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition: GOC 3 Division Commended for Sustaining Tempo of Troop’s Training.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division and Commander Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Major General Ibrahim Ali has been commended for consistently training his troops.
The commendation was made on Thursday 8 September 2022 at the closing ceremony of 3 Division Inter Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition 2022 hosted by Headquarters 3 Division Garrison, Jos.
Declaring the event closed, the Special Guest of Honour,  Executive Governor Plateau state, Rt Hon Simon Bako Lalong said the hosting of two significant annual events of the Nigerian Army in Plateau state attest to the resolve of the army to improve personnel capacity to confront the security challenges on the Plateau and the country.
He commended the Nigerian Army for organising important trainings in form of competition to enhance the spirit of sportsmanship, cooperation  and teamwork among officers.
Represented by the Special Assistant to the governor on Security, Major General Augustine Agundu retired, Governor Lalong  said the state is currently witnessing tremendous peace as a result of increased military activities of 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven.
He thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya for  supporting the activities of 3 Division.
Delivering the welcome address, the GOC and Commander OPSH, Major General Ibrahim Ali said the Nigerian Army will continually engage in routine training aimed at improving its skills and techniques to better protect law abiding citizens.
He said, with the increasing rate of kidnapping, banditry and insurgency, the military will not relent in training and retraining of its personnel to better face the challenges.
The GOC further revealed that the competition was organized with the aim of training subaltern officers to quickly respond to emerging threats in carrying out their roles in a joint environment with other security agencies.
Thanking the dignitaries at the event, the Commander 3 Division Garrison, Brigadier General Micheal Agi commended the high level of discipline exhibited by participants during the competition.
Headquarters 3 Division Garrison emerged the first position overall while 6 Brigade Jalingo, Taraba State took the second position.
Highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of trophies and award to formations and individual officers who distinguished themselves during the competition.
