Interim PAP Administrator, Hails Nigerian Army’s Contribution for Sustenance of Mandate; Seek More  Collaboration in Areas of Training, Logistics & Capacity Building

The Interim Administrator, Presidential Armnesty Programme (PAP) , Major General Barry Tariye Ndiomu (rtd) has commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts in making Amnesty programme an enduring institution for defusing the militant insurgency in the oil-rich Niger Delta.
General Ndiomu disclosed this on Thursday when he paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya at the Army Headquarters, Abuja.
The Interim Administrator noted the PAP which was  designed to achieve broader socio-economic and stabilisation needed more collaboration and support of the Nigerian Army (NA) due to its present challenges to enable it achieve its given mandate.
He listed some of the challenges expected to help PAP as those of human capital development, logistics among others to enable PAP implement its programmes and activities.
He lauded the efforts, commitment and gallantry of the NA towards mitigating the multifaceted security challenges across the country and urged them to maintain the tempo.
The Interim Administrator also thanked the Commander AHQ Garrison and personnel for their swift response, the General Officer Commanding 6 Div and troops for their professionalism in maintaining peace in the Niger delta region and for assisting their operations in the zone.
Responding, the COAS appreciated PAP Interim Administrator and his team for the visit, noting that the Nigerian Army will continue to support all it’s programmes and activities to enable him achieve its mandate.
He recalled the long standing relationship between both organizations and promised to leverage on it for the benefit of all.
He congratulated General Idiomu (rtd) for his recent appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari and expressed confidence in his capacity to discharge his duties credibly.
