The Katsina state Police Commissioner, CP Sanusi Buba, has been honoured with a traditional title ‘Makaman Zaman Lafiya’ by the Nigerian Association Of Quranic Reciters.
A statement issued on Saturday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer,
SP Gambo Isah said that Executive members of the Association converged in Katsina to identify and confer the title on CP Buba, following the tremendous efforts and achievements he recorded in fighting crime and sustaining peace in Katsina state.
“We have deemed it expedient to recognize the effort of CP Sanusi Buba, CP Katsina State Police command for others to emulate and was awarded with a title of “MAKAMAN ZAMAN LAFIYA”, meaning “Restorer of peace”. Said the association.

According to SP Gambo, the association which owns the Makarantun Mari which were later closed down by the Federal Government for gross ineffectiveness in handling constitutional rights of citizens, has described the Commissioner of Police as a hero who brought about progress in the quest for Quranic and Islamic education in Nigeria.
The leader of the delegation, Gwani Yusuf Hamza, Garkuwan Hafizan Al Quran, stated that, the association is planning for a grand event in Katsina for mass recitation of the Holy Quran and special prayer sessions for sustainable peace in Katsina, Zamfara and the Nation at large coming up next month.
He reiterated that arrangements have concluded for the event in which some important personalities including the CP will be officially decorated with their titles.
