Katsina Police nab robbery suspect, recover stolen 36 seater coaster bus; bust gang of thieves, nab Indian hemp dealer

The Police in Katsina state have recovered a 36 seater Toyota Coaster bus and arrested an armed robbery suspect who stole the bus.

The Police similarly busted a notorious gang of thieves who specialize in robbing people of their handsets, money, wristwatches and other valuables during ceremonies.

Also, operatives of the Katsina Police Command arrested a notorious Indian hemp supplier/dealer and recovered large quantity of cannabis from his hideiut

Police Public Relations officer of the command, DSP Gambo Isah made the disclosure in a statement on Sunday.

Isah said, “On Sunday 10/11/2019 at about 06:30hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting one Ibrahim Usman, aged 35yrs of Unguwar Kwari, Badawa area of Kano State in possession of a 35 seater, Toyota Coaster Bus, white in colour, with registration No. AGL 869 R, Chassis No. JTGFK518604023588, along IBB Way, katsina.

The said motor vehicle was stolen yesterday at G9 mobile office along Audu Bako way Kano. Investigation is ongoing.

” On 06/11/2019 at about 12:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in arresting a notorious Indian Hemp dealer, one Shamsu Rabi’u, aged 23yrs of Gidan Mutum Daya village, Kusada LGA of Katsina state with two bags containing large quantity of dried leaves reasonably suspected to be Indian Hemp.

Nemesis caught up with the suspect when he was arrested while trying to move the exhibits to a particular location.

Suspect confessed to the crime and is assisting the police in their investigation. Investigation is ongoing.

On 26/10/2019 during the annual Sheikh Ahmed Tijjani Maulud conducted at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina, the Command succeeded in conducting a sting operation at various locations in and around the venue.

The following members of a notorious syndicate of gang of thieves who have specialized in theft of money, GSM handsets and other valuables were apprehended.

Suspects confessed to various crimes committed within the state.

They are also being investigated in connection with a case of Culpable Homicide and armed robbery that recently occurred at Sabon Gari Division area of Katsina state. Investigation is ongoing.
