Lagos CP gives 7 days ultimatum to operators of bullion vans & traditional vehicles on registration of titles.

The Lagos state Police Commississioner, CP Hakeem Odumosu has given seven days ultimatum to owners of bullion vans, Pilot and escort vehicles, as well as vehicles having only names, titles or positions as plate numbers to register them, or face the wrath of the law.

Towards enforcing the directive, CP Odumosu, has set up a Special Operation to clampdown on violators of unregistered vehicles in the state, at the expiration of the ultimatum beginning from Monday 6 December 2020

The enforcement according to Odumosu, became necessary, as criminals had devised a new means of operating with unregistered vehicles.

He cited a recent incident in which a Bureau-de-Change operator was robbed and murdered by a robbery gang which operated in an unregistered vehicle at Allen Avenue, Ikeja area of the state, thereby making it difficult for detectives to trace the vehicle.

The massive clampdown according to the command boss ” begins on January 13, 2020 until sanity is restored to our roads”.
