Military Secretary, Army, Major Gen JH Abdussalam commend’s AHQ Garrison over Renewed Commitment to Training as Weeklong Corporal & Below Competition Ends in Abuja.

The Military Secretary, Army, Major General JH Abdussalsm who was the Special Guest of Honour at the closing ceremony of the AHQ Garrison’s ,2022 Corporal and Below competion in Abija, has commended the Garrison for the renewed commitment to training of troops noting that this is the bedrock under which any military stands.
Addressing 87 Soldiers and three officers who took part in the competition Friday at the Mogadishu Cantonment parade ground, Major Gen Abdusalam said, “We have all witnessed the giant strides the COAS, Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya has made in area of the NA’s operational readiness in a bid to achieve his vision for the Army.
 
 
“It is in this light that the Nigerian Army has been proactive in providing the
necessary training required to enhance the capacity and capability of
its officers and soldiers.
“Therefore, given the time, dedication and resources committed to your development, it is expected that your
the quality of your output as well trained, highly motivated and capability will be on the high.
“From the display I have witnessed today, I congratulate the Commander, AHQ Garrison for the job you
have done in a little over a month, and I know without an iota of doubt
that even greater achievements in training would be made under you as the year progresses.
While expressing gratitude to the Commander AHQ Garrison for the rare privilege of inviting his as the Special Guest of Honour, the Military Secretary said, “I’ve known the Commander AHQ Garrison for quite some time and I can attest to his great character.
“He has been a quiet and dedicated achiever in almost all he does since
we met in 1989, especially, in areas of training and development of men placed under his charge.”

Recall that Army Headquarter’s Garrison  commenced its Corporal and Below competition 2022, with the Garrison Commander, Major Gen KN Garba stating that the competition is aimed at testing and building on the endurance capabilities of troops.
Major Gen Garba said the soldiers are to compete in Map Reading, Reading Work, Point to Point Exercise, Range Classification (Weapon Handling/Shooting Exercise), Obstacle Crossing, Swimming, Drill Competition and Physical Fitness which involves 3.2kilometres endurance run.
Furthermore, he said the competition aim’s at improving leadership qualities, organizational abilities and the level of initiative amongst Corporal’s and below.
He said his expectation is that at the end of the exercise, troops team spirit would have improved adding, “I ecpect your ettiquette and knowledge to also improve.
The troop’s participating in the competition are drawn from the branches and Departments drawn from
Army Headquarters including COTI, DCMA, DOA, DAOPS, DAPR, COAS Office, NACMP etc.
