The Special Military Task Force, otherwise known as Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), on Monday hosted a party for two homes housing internally displaced persons and scores of orphans.

Safe Haven which id saddled with the responsibility to restore and maintain peace in three northern Nigerian States, namely, Plateau, some parts of Bauchi and Southern Kaduna, said the aim is to bring succor to citizens who were displaced by the long protracted crisis that engulfed the State for over a decade.

His words, “Anytime I visit the IDPs’ camps, I leave with a heavy heart as most of them are going through very difficult situations and that is why I feel elated to be here today to celebrate this season with them: I truly hope it will make them forget their sorrow, even if it is only for a moment”.

Gen. Agundu also said that he is celebrating Christmas with Orphans and IDPs to attest to the success so far recorded in attaining and sustaining peace in Plateau, adding that the celebration demonstrated the resilience of his troops in ensuring that normalcy returns to the State.

The OPSH boss also said the peace that has returned to the State will be more evident in 2020.
