“I am delighted to have members of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association attend today’s lecture which we have put in place as part of the activities to mark the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) for the year 2022.
“Here in Abuja, we are marking NADCEL by conducting the “NAOWA Leadership Seminar” with the theme “Nurturing NAOWA through Team Building and Mentorship”.
“It is obvious that, NAOWA is an offshoot of the Nigerian Army and therefore as we mark NADCEL, it is only appropriate that we seek ways to support and celebrate our spouses through appropriate behaviours and performance of our sacred duty of maintaining the home front and indeed the larger society as wives, mothers, sisters and comforters.
“This year, the Nig Army chose to mark NADCEL in Owerri, Imo state and indeed some NAOWA representatives are in Owerri to mark the event. I am particularly joyous that series of activities are ongoing in all NAOWA Chapters in commemoration of NADCEL.
“The theme for this year’s NADCEL is ” Repositioning the Nigerian Army in the Joint Operations Environment: A Panacea for Success in Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges”.
Continuing she said, “In addition, to sustain the legacies of our predecessors, we need to keep consolidating on what have been established by strengthening and contributing positively in all ways possible.
“Therefore, this seminar is meant to enhance and grow NAOWA through team building and mentorship which are essentials to effective performance of our roles within and outside the home front.
“As we mark NADCEL, I enjoin all to always exhibit discipline, Integrity, loyalty and selflessness as wives of Nigerian Army personnel.
While congratulating the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen F Yahaya for a successful NADCEL and all officers of the Nigerian Army who are the backbone behind NAOWA activities, the NAOWA President appreciated all Nigerian Army personnel both serving and retired as well as those that have paid the supreme price.
