New Kano police Commissioner pledges to end Drug Abuse, Kidnapping

The New Police Commissioner in charge of Kano state, CP Habu A. Sani has expressed commitments to fight all sort of criminal acts, saying that there will be hiding space for criminals in Kano.

CP Habu made this known to journalists at the Police Headquarters during his meeting with DPOs and Directors on Monday.

According DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the new CP assumed duty on the 20th November, 2019 as the 41st Commissioner of Police of Kano State Command and having received briefs from the Departmental Heads; the security situation of the State was carefully analyzed and critically studied.

The Commissioner said that he is committed to implement all his action plans to fight all forms of crimes and criminality in Kano state.

DSP Abdullahi Haruna however revealed that the new CP had directed all Heads of Departments, DPOs, Tactical Commanders, other supervisory officers and personnel to work professionally in accordance with the provisions of the Police Act and Regulations, the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, respect for Human Rights and Rule of Law.

“I assure you that our Public Relations Department of the Command will be strengthened to achieve its mandate and meet the demand of the dynamic and commercial Kano State.” CP Babu said.

Speaking on the use of social media, the new CP said all arrangements were made to monitor, engage and promote policing activities that will strengthen security level in the state.

He said the command would soon lunch an operation tagged “Police Campaign against Daba and other Vices”, campaign in schools, market places, town hall meetings, workshops and utilization of Media Platforms to end the menace of Daba, Drug Abuse and other social vices in the State.

He however pledged to surmount any emerging security challenge in Kano state, especially drug abuse and kidnapping.
