Ops Hadarin Daji: Troops eliminate 100 bandits, arrests Gunrunners; rescue 10 kidnapped persons in Zamfara state.

The Acting Force Information Officer of Operation Hadarin Daji Captain Ayobami Oni-Orisan stated this while parading the suspect in Gusau.

According to the statement, Troops which comprises the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Police and the Department of State Services have commenced the intensive Operations since December 2019 against the unrepentant bandits that refused to key into the peace initiatives of Zamfara state government.

The clearance of the bandits was carried out in Tashar Kuturu, Dankalgo, Gobirawa junction and Bagega.

Other Villages are Kawaye, Duhuwa, sabon-Birni, Dankurmi, Dangulbi, Hayin Bawa, Zango, Unguwar Shanu, Tudun Mali, Magazu, Mayanci and Gando all in Anka, Talata Mafara, Tsafe, Maru and Bukkuyum Local Government areas of Zamfara State.

The Statement added that, the Ground Troops were backed by a fighter jet that cleared Shinfida village in Jibia Local Governments of Katsina State.

The Acting Force information officer of the troops explained that they neutralized One hundred Bandits including Six Key Commanders and Rescued Ten kidnapped persons.

They also recovered 500 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, Twenty three motorcycles, Fifteen AK47 Rifles, Four General Purpose Machine Guns, One PKM Machine Gun, One Rocket Propelled Grenade Bomb, One Rocket Propelled Grenade Tube, and Eleven Fully loaded Magazines as well as 600 and 300 rustled cows and Sheep.

In another operations, the troops of the Operation Hadarin Daji in Collaboration with the Defence Forces of Niger Republic, the troops apprehended a high-profile gunrunner named “Kunene” who is responsible for the inflow of arms, ammunition and other dangerous weapons to the region.

Other apprehended suspected bandits Abubakar Kiri Koloma, Abubakar Ibrahim, Haruna Alhaji Yaro and two notorious drug dealers, Kabiru Abubakar Isah and Hamisu Dan-Kwamba at various locations in Zamfara State.

According to Captain Oni, travellers are now safe to ply the roads in the state and other neighboring States as no incident of Kidnapping or highway robbery has taken place, in last two months in the area.

Captain Oni urged the General Public to provide the troops with timely information through the dedicated emergency telephone numbers and warned all recalcitrant bandits to lay down their arms and embrace the ongoing peace process in the affected states.
