The Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force, North East (NE) Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Ibrahim Ali has charged troops of Sector 2 OPHK to reactivate their war mood in readiness for forthcoming operations in their area of responsibilities (AOR).
Gen Ali gave the charge on Friday, 10 February 2023, during his maiden operational visit to Headquarters Sector 2 OPHK in Damaturu, Yobe State.
The TC who was visibly impressed with troops turnout charged them to be more dogged, resilient and professional in the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Operations adding that it is a thing of pride to know that troops were willing and eager to rid the North East Theatre of ISWAP/BH Terrorists.
He enjoined them to equally key into his Philosophy of Command which states that “Any day you wake up in the morning; reason, visualize and believe in your mind that the menace of insurgency in the North East is over”.
Gen Ali also emphasized that success in any operation starts from the mind before manifesting in the physical, therefore he urged them to always have a positive mindset before embarking on any operation”.
Additionally, he warned troops against act of misconduct while carrying out their assigned duties.
In his welcome remarks during the visit, the Commander Sector 2 OPHK, Major General Lander Saraso assured the TC of the troops readiness and commitment to restore total and long lasting peace and normalcy within the Sector’s AOR.
Earlier, the Theatre Commander received intelligence and operations brief at the Headquarters and thereafter proceeded to 233 Battalion and Level II Field Hospital Damaturu, where he inspected the new Emergency Department of the hospital among others.
The high point of the visit was a courtesy call on the Commissioner of Police Yobe State Command CP Haruna Garba by the Theatre Commander, Presentation of souvenirs, signing of visitors’ book and group photograph.
