2023: Sen. Yusuf Datti Tackles APC, Shettima over Peter Obi’s Presidency

The Vice Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Sen. Yusuf Datti Ahmed has taken a swipe on the Vice Presidential Candidate of the APC, Kashim Shettima over divisive comments he made on the candidacy of Labour Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi.

Senator Datti Ahmed attributed that comment of Shettima to the reason behind severe agitation in some part of Nigeria and expresses Concern it’s coming from someone that is supposed to be seen as a leader.

Datti’s words “The statement from @Apc vice presidential candidate, shettima during an interview with @Channelstv that “Peter Obi can only be a president in Igbo land and not Nigeria” is very divisive!”

He added that “this kind of statement and mindset is the reason you have some parts of this country calling for independence from Nigeria”.

“Knowing fully well how divided our country is today, Politicians especially those participating in 2023 election must be guided in their words”.

“H.E Peter Obi has participated in different televisions and radio interviews. He always maintained what he’s coming to do if voted as the president. He also outlines his track records and ask you to verify them”.

“We want people to vote for us not because of where we are coming from but because of our competency”.

“How come every other candidates are paranoia about @labourparty and Peter Obi? Talking about Peter Obi instead of what they’ll do if being elected”

To the Youths and all Nigerians seeking for a better Nigeria, he said “Don’t be deterred by this. Keep the hope alive, be Obidient and yusuful till the end”.
