Shekau lacks capacity to give condition for release of abducted girls; is a rat hiding in holes – DHQ.

The Defence Headquarters has said that Boko Haram leader, Shekau is a mere rat who does not possess the capacity to stand up to gallant troops of the Nigerian military hence his hiding in holes to escape wrath of troop.

Reacting to Shekau’s new video and conditions for the release of remaining Chibok girls held captive, the Defence Headquarters in a statement signed by Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Acting Director, Defence Information noted that criminals like the Boko Haram leader cannot deter the resolve of the armed forces to flush them out of North east.

“The Armed Forces and security agencies are very keen to see that hostages held captive are rescued or released.

“Our mandate however is not to negotiate with terrorists.

“Shekau does not possess the capacity he arrogates to himself, that is the reason he is constantly on the run and hiding in holes like a rat, using innocent civilians as human shield to surround and protect himself.

“Our troops are gallantly dominating the theatre of operation, therefore that criminal cannot deter our troops.

Abubakar Shekau, had sent President Muhammadu Buhari a warning in a video, telling him never to return to Borno.

In a video, the leader of the sect conspicuously told Buhari that his members are fully on ground in the North-East.

He said they will attack Buhari if he visits Borno again.

His words, “Buhari came to Maiduguri pretending to be a good man. He shouldn’t try it again,” Shekau said in Hausa language.

He gave condition for Chibok girls’ release, saying that the schoolgirls would be set free if the federal government let go of the sect members currently in detention.

Buhari, fear your Creator. God said you don’t have up to a spider’s web. But you think you are a major general. l swear, you are nothing. Buhari, I am talking to you, you’ll know no peace. Don’t come back to Maiduguri

“Just go and sit down and think over my comments. And if u think I am the one disrupting your affairs, honestly I am not. You have deceived the people by telling them you are a just leader; carry on!

On Chibok girls, “Those shouting Bring Back Our Girls, Bring Back Our Girls, the only way to have those girls back is for our men in prison to be released.

Recall that in April 15, 2014, the sects abducted about 276 female students from Chibok girls Secondary School.

Since then, Boko Haram has release few and had retained others including Leah Sharibu, a Christian amongst them.

However, the group launched another attack hours after Buhari paid a condolence visit to the state over the killing of 30 persons in Auno, a community near Maiduguri, on Sunday.
