In continuation of the ongoing familiarization tour, the Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force (JTF) North East, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Ibrahim Ali accompanied by the Theatre Logistics Component Commander, Brigadier General EJ Ikomi and other Senior Officers on Thursday 8 February 2023 paid a visit to Sector 3 OPHK and MNJTF, Monguno.
Gen Ali was received on arrival by the Sector Commander, Maj Gen AE Abubakar who briefed him on the Operational activities of the sector.
In his remarks, Major General Ali expressed delight to be in Sector 3 Area of Responsibility and also commended the command for the tremendous successes they have recorded in the fight against the insurgents.
Addressing troops thereafter, the Theatre Commander emphasized on the need to remain professional and discipline and equally directed the command to continue to regulate the activities of the hybrid force to conform to international best practices.
Furthermore, the TC charged them to sustain the tempo of the Sector’s offensives against the terrorists in order to deny them freedom of action and wipe out the remnants of the marauding terrorists.
“Since its emergence, Sector 3 has done a lot in degrading the terrorist and must continue to do so until the entire region is free of terrorism and other criminal activities’, he added.

The Theatre Commander OPHK further expressed satisfaction with the Civil-Military Cooperation activities of the Sector which according to him is ‘key and significant in winning the hearts and minds of the locals and also a veritable tool for winning the war against the insurgents’.
In his welcome address, Major General AE Abubakar said, ‘It is a privilege receiving the Theatre Commander OPHK and members of his entourage in Sector Headquarters’ noting that the visit of he TC is timely and instrumental in boosting troops’ morale in the ongoing Counter Terrorism and Counter Insurgency Operations.
He assured the Theatre Commander of the Sector’s commitment and determination to accomplish the Operational mandate of OPHK.
Before departure, the TC also visited 68 Battalion Mallam Fatori, where he also addressed troops, delivered some logistics to the Battalion and assured them of his continuous support and adequate welfare. He also pledged to reward hard work with commendation and promotion.
The high point of the visit was the laying of wreath by the Theatre Commander at the Heroes Wall of Fame Sector 3 OPHK/MNJTF, distribution of logistics to troops, signing of visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs and group photograph.
