The Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, on behalf of the Police Management Team and the entire Officers and Men of the Force with a heavy heart regret to announce the Firdau Prayer after consultation with the family of late IGP (RTD) Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Commassie,
The Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum, Sardaunan Katsina, Garkuwan Hausa died at the age of Seventy Six (76) and was been buried on Friday, 20th July, 2018 according to Islamic rites in Katsina, Katsina State.
The Firdau Prayer is slated to come up on Sunday, 22nd July, 2018 from 12noon at his residence, No. 1 Ibrahim, Commassie Street, GRA, Katsina, Katsina State.
Meanwhile, the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force have continued to mourn the passage of the 9th Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu-Commassie, GCON, at the age of 76.
The 19th Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Kpotun-Idris, in his condolence message shortly after the burial rites of the esteemed and highly revered Police Boss, on Friday, 20th July, 2018 in Katsina, Katsina State; paid tribute to the late Police Chief describing the loss as monumental and irreparable to the Nigeria Police Force and our dear Nation, Nigeria.
He added that the Country, Nigeria Police Force and indeed Katsina State where he hailed from, will miss his wise counsel and wealth of experience as a retired experienced Senior Police Officer”.
IGP Idris also expressed sadness over the death of his boss and mentor, late Commassie.

“The late 9th IGP, Chairman, Arewa Consultative Forum and Sadaunan Katsina during his life time, showed love to all and sundry, irrespective of their tribe, religious inclination and in addition to these he was a Godly man, who has the interest of all Nigerians, particularly the Police Officers at heart above any other thing”.
IGP Idris was deeply touched when he received the sad news that the former IGP Commassie had passed on, adding that his death is a huge loss not only to Police Force, but also to Katsina state and the Nation at large.
It was significant that throughout his remarkable life, the late Police Chief retained the humble and unassuming mien of a technocrat, and respect for all and sundry.
“He was a bridge builder, an amiable personality who is fond of his people and whose vacuum will be difficult to fill’.
May his exemplary leadership in promoting peace, unity and progress of Nigeria be remembered as his legacy towards making Nigeria a better place to live.
The Police chief will be remembered for bringing innovation into the Police Force and will be greatly missed for his benevolence and humility to all and sundry particularly officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.”
Idris urged the deceased’s family to take solace in the fact that their patriarch lived a purposeful life dedicated to humanity and left behind a good legacy.
IGP Idris however prayed to God to grant the late Commassie with Aljanah Firdausi and to as well give the members of his family, the power and fortitude to bear the great loss.
