2019: Marwa insists, “No vacancy in Aso Villa till 2023”.

With barely two months to the 2019 Presidential elections, former Lagos State Military Administrator and Chieftain of the APC, General Buba Marwa (rtd) has insisted that President Muhammadu Buhari, who is the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, would win the election.

Consequently, Gen Marwa has advised all other candidates of other political parties vying for the same position to wait until 2023 when Buhari would have finished his 2nd term, to contest.

He made the declaration on Thursday in Yola while fielding questions from the media.

Gen Marwa who has been on a whirlwind visit as well as interactive session with stakeholders in parts of the country on the ways and means through which the destructive menace of drugs abuse can be eliminated in the country, as Chairman of the Presidential Committee on elimination of drugs abuse, expressed confidence that President Buhari’s performance so far would endear him to the electorates.

He said, “The Buba Marwa Organization is the first to organize rally in support of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016 because Buhari has done very well in three areas of economy, security and fight against corruption.

“He will return for the second term by the grace of God and for that, I have no doubt that all those vying for Aso Villa should wait till 2023”.

On the recent security situation in the country, he said the Army and other security agencies had done excellently well and need more support and encouragement from the general public.

On illicit drugs, Marwa said the committee he was chairing had made several contacts and efforts to control the importation, consumption and dealing in such drugs as well as the trafficker.
