Police in Ogun State have arrested one Daniel Essien 26yrs for having an unlawful carnal knowledge of a six years old girl (Name withheld).
His arrest was as a result of complaint lodged by the victim’s mother Ayoola Tolulope of No.6, Olufemi Oshin Street Alagbole Akute.
She reported that she was called by her child school teacher to be watchful of her daughter because the girl confided in her that a man has been abusing her sexually.

This made her to interrogate the child on her arrival from school consequent upon which the girl told her that it was Essien who own a barbing salon in the neighborhood who has been having carnal knowledge of her for almost 3 times now.
On the strength of the report, the DPO Ajuwon Division, CSP Afolabi Kazeem led his detectives to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested.
On interrogation, he first denied the allegation but when the girl was taken to hospital and the medical report confirmed it, he owned up to the commission of the crime.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police CP Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered that the suspect be transferred to Anti-Human trafficking and child labour unit of the State criminal investigation and intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
