EFCC raids former Naval Chief, Jibrin’s Country Home over Whistle Blower tip-off; destroys property.

Following what sources said was a whistle-blower induced action; the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) weekend raided the residence of former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin in Anyigba, Kogi State.

The source said the EFCC operatives who drove in a pick-up hilux van after the tip-off, failed to find neither any cash nor unusual fleet of exotic vehicles as were informed.

It was gathered that the EFCC’s operation led by one DSP Madaki left behind, a trail of destroyed property including broken soak away and damaged ceilings after their fruitless search.

Eye witnesses said when the fierce looking and armed EFCC staff stormed Jibrin’s house in Anyigba, “They broke the sewage tanks and ceiling but found nothing.”

Last November 2016, following recommendation of the Presidential panel investigating corruption allegations against military personnel, Vice Admiral Ibrahim was invited and quizzed by the EFCC.

On 24th November, the rented apartment of the former Service Chief was also ransacked and his property destroyed.
