7 Governors in London to see Buhari.

Seven State governors under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), led by its Chairman, Zamfara State Governor, Abdul’aziz Yari  are in London to visit President Muhammadu Buhari, today, Wednesday 26th July 2017.

A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu said the team which is a mix of PDP and APC governors, comprised of governor Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Kashim Shettima (Borno), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom) and Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo).

Recall that President Buhari had on Sunday received a delegation of All Progressives Congress (APC) officials which comprised of the national leadership of the party and 4 governors.

The delegation which also includes Governor of Ebonyi state, Dave Umahi left last night and are expected to have arrived UK early hours of today.

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina said the selection of members of the delegation was done by the NGF.

He dismissed the insinuation that Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti, an ardent critic of President Buhari’s administration, was deliberately excluded from the trip.

“The selection was not done by the government. It was done by the NGF and you can see that the delegation is headed by Yari, who is chairman of that Forum. So, that question should then go to the forum”, Adesina said.

He added that the president, who is recuperating very fast, preferred receiving delegations rather than addressing the nation through broadcast.
