The Nasarawa State Police Command working in conjunction with vigilante groups have rescued four (4) kidnapped victims from their abductors following the storming of the kidnappers den on Saturday by the DPO Garaku division, Superintendent of Police, Abdulbaqi Zandam.
A statement giving details of the rescue said, “Following the kidnap of 4 persons on Saturday at about 8pm between Angwan Mayo and Sabongida under Kokona LGA. A complaint was lodged with the police.
“On the 16th, Sunday, at about 9am, a rescue team of policemen and vigilante led by the DPO Garaku division, SP Abdulbaqi Zandam stormed the hideout of the suspected kidnappers.
 “A hill behind Angwan Mayo situated at a boundary between Nasarawa and Kaduna States where 4 kidnapped victims were kept.
The victims are Dr Samuel Anzaku of Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Abuja, Obinna Maduagwu of Bank of Agriculture, Enugu branch, Â Retired Assistant Superintendent of Police, David Mathew for Lafia and Hauwa Dahiru were rescued.
“The hoodlums who abandoned the victims and escaped into the bush, left behind, the following items which were recovered.
“One AK 47 Magazine with 28 rounds of live ammunition, 2 Glo Sim cards, one memory card, voters card, a rope and some charms. Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects.
