The CISM President Col Nilton Rolim (Brazil), CISM Vice President Africa and OSMA President Maj Gen Maikano Abdullahi (Nigeria) and CISM Games Director Col Joseph Bakari (Tanzania), are in Pretoria South Africa for the coordination meeting with the South African authorities to discuss the possibility to host the 8th CISM Summer Games in 2027.
A statement said, “On 12th June 2023, the delegation made a courtesy call to the office of the Chief of the South African National Defence Force General R. Maphwanya.
“After the informative presentation on the modalities of organising the games from Games Director Col Bakari which was backed by the strategic details from both CISM President and VP Africa, the Chief of the South African National Defence Force Gen Maphwaya was convinced that South Africa can be the host of the next edition of the World Military Summer Games in 2027.
“In view of that he tasked the South African Delegation to CISM to continue with the necessary steps so as to be in line with CISM roadmap.
“The CISM delegation also had an opportunity to have a glimpse of Sports facilities earmarked for the event around Pretoria.
” Also, the forthcoming African Military Games to be hosted in Abuja Nigeria next year 2024 will serve as a trial for African countries to the world Military championship in South Africa 2027.”
