11 Dare-Devil Kidnappers/Armed Robbery Gang Smashed along Abuja-Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road by Police Special Forces; 4 Victims Rescued.

The Nigerian Police force in its implementation of  ‘Operation Absolute Security’ to rid kidnappers and armed robbery gangs terrorizing travelers as well as communities along the Kaduna-Abuja-Kano and Katsina roads, have again arrested 11 notorious kidnappers and armed robbers along the Birnin-Gwari-Funtua Road, and the Kaduna-Niger-Kano-Abuja.

During the raid on the kidnapper’s hideouts by the Inspector General of Police Special Squads, four victims, three males and one female hostage were rescued.

The arrest of the eleven suspects and parade which is the fourth since Operation Absolute Security started brings the total of kidnappers, armed robbery suspects and others arrested to 124 suspects.

Members of the gang paraded were Hassan Ibrahim, Lukman Jubrin, Yahaya Saibu, Victor Abila, Likita Umar, Abdullahi Haruna, Usman Marafa, Bello Abdullahi from who another AK47 Rifle was recovered.

Also paraded was Abdulmumin Alhaji, Bala Mohammed and Abubakar Mohammed.

Speaking to newsmen during the parade at Jere community, Kaduna state, leader of the Kidnapping gang, Hassan Ibrahim disclosed that he bought his brand new AK 47 rifle for N500, 000.

Aside the AK 47 rifles recovered from the gang leaders, other exhibits included one other 3 AK 47 Rifle, 72 rounds of AK 47 Ammunition, 3 locally made Guns, Cutlasses, Charms and Sticks.

Briefing newsmen on the operation, Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Jimoh Moshood said, “The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris last month extended the mandate and Area of Responsibilities of Operations Absolute Sanity to cover Birnin Gwari – Funtua, Birnin Gwari – Kaduna and Kaduna – Kano Highways to respond to the recent occurrence of cases of kidnapping and armed robbery on the mentioned roads.

Moshood said the above mentioned suspects arrested in the act during an operation that lasted several hours in the identified kidnap dens, camps and hideouts along the Highways and during interrogation, the eleven (11) suspects confessed to the crimes.

They admitted to haven carried out several kidnappings/armed robberies attacks on innocent travelers on Birnin Gwari – Funtua and Birnin Gwari -Kaduna and Kaduna – Kano roads in recent times.

“Four (4) victims comprising three (3) men and a woman were rescued from the kidnappers alive and unhurt during the operation without payment of ransom.

They will be arraigned in court on completion of investigation.

CSP Moshood expressed the appreciation of the Inspector General of Police for the support of the members of the public in the successes of arresting the criminals just as he pledged the renewed commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to prevent and detect crimes, most especially violent crimes such as kidnapping and armed robbery throughout the country.

A resident of Jere CommunityZubeiru Makama while commending the Police for the action of going after kidnappers along the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano-Katsina highways, noted that the hoodlums usually attack locals in their farms, rape their women and go away with the farm harvest.
