Abia State Government, Police Command Eulogize CP Leye Oyebade’s Crime Prevention Strategies.

The Government and People of Abia State as well as officers and men of the Abia Police Command have eulogized outgoing Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Adeleye Oyebade for his professionalism, dedication to duty and innovative strategies that helped checked criminality in the state.

During CP Oyebade’s tenure, the Police in Abia State made 492 arrests including 257 suspected armed robbers and kidnappers and killed 14 others for same crimes within the last one year.

The was revealed in the handing over note of the former Commissioner, CP Oyebade, while passing on the baton to CP Anthony Ogbizi Michael, after his redeployment by Force headquarters.

In the battle against dangerous kidnappers in the state, Oyebade’s men rescued 35 kidnapped victims and 13 babies.

His proactive and community related policing approach also led to the recovery of 92 stolen vehicles, 13 motorcycles, and seven tricycles.

Following his assumption of office on August 8, 2016, till his transfer this month, CP Oyebade has also recovered 84 assorted arms and 90 rounds of ammunition of diverse caliber.

The recovered arms included AK47 guns, Pump Action rifles, Revolver Pistols, locally made guns, double-barrel and single-barrel guns.

Among Abians who paid encomiums on CP Oyebade was the state governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, who hosted him before he left Umuahia to take charge of the Railway Police Command.

He was celebrated and presented an award plaque with the pictures posted on the Facebook page of Abia State Police Command.
