The Police in Abuja have warned residents of the Federal Capital Territory to be security conscious especially at this period of ‘Ember Months’ urging to guard against opening their gates to strangers.
The Police said the advice is sequel to the fact that it has uncovered a new modus operandi of armed robbery in carrying out criminal attacks.

Under the new tactics, a notorious gang of robbers will drive their vehicle to the gate of unsuspecting members of the public and blare horn for the gatemen to accord them access into the compound after which they commence robbery operation.
A statement by DSP Anjuguri Manzah, PPRO said, “While the Command is working assiduously to arrest these hoodlums, members of the public are advised to be mindful of the activities of this syndicate.
“Residents should educate their gatemen on the need to always be double sure of who is at the gate before admitting any visitor into their compound.”
