The Rotary Club, Okota in Lagos State has given an award for Exemplary Community Service to the Area Commander, Mushin, Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Akinbayo Olasunkomi Olasoji.
It would be recalled that ACP Olasoji was given Special promotion by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris based on special recommendation for exemplary service even before he was posted to Mushin.
ACP Olasoji is noted as a tough Police detective who had busted several criminal gangs for the Nigeria Police force including those which led to recoveries of N5.2million, N21million and $12, 900 in Warri and Port Harcourt in the past.

In March 2012, while investigating a matter, Olasoji was offered a bribe of N21million and $12, 900 while conducting a search in the house of a suspect. He rebuffed the inducement to allow the suspect escape justice.
He proceeded with the arrest and testified in court. The bribe money was handed over to the police and registered as exhibit. In a commendation letter from the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) to the Secretary to the Government of the federation on 16, March, 2015, NBA said, “We write to recommend the Akinbayo Olasoji for accelerated promotion as well as the conferment of a national award, on account of his exemplary service, incorruptibility and dedication to duty.
