AHQ Garrison Flags-Off 2022 Warrant Officer’s and Senior NCO’s Competition in Abuja for Combat Readiness.  

 

The Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja on Monday flagged Off the Warrant Officers and Senior Non Commissioned Officer’s Competition for the year 2022 with the Commander AHQ Garrison, Major Gen. Kabiru Garba charging troops to take the completion very seriously as emerging security threats in the country demanded troops to be at the top of their capabilities.

 

 

Represented by the Chief of Staff of the Garrison, Brig Gen Jefferson Feboke, the AHQ Commander noted that advantages and benefits of such competition is that, “If you (Soldiers) take the completion seriously, you will receive the reward and if you don’t take it seriously, you will also receive the reward.

 

 

Earlier, the Garrison Training Officer, Brig Gen AT Lawal disclosed that the WOs and SNCO’s competition is part of the training and retraining schedule for troops to ensure agility, physical fitness and combat readiness of troops adding that training is one of the cardinal planks of the Chief of Army Staff’s mission and vision.

 

 

Events to be competed for include Map Reading Competition, Weapons Handling/Shooting Competition at the Guards Brigade Range, Keffi; Physical Fitness Exercise involving 3.2kilometre endurance run, Obstacle Crossing, Struppling and Assembly.

 

Three teams drawn from the Army headquarters and other Army Departments in Abuja are partaking in the competition with team led by Major RA Dewan while the 2i/c is Capt. OA Dayo Karim, Team B is led by Major YY Aliyu while the 2 i/c is Capt. YI Bagudu and Team C is led by Major M Badeh and the 2 i/c is Capt. FO Ogbu.          

 

 

Present at the flag off ceremony were principal staff officers and personnel of AHQ Garrison.
