Air and Land Bombardments: 6 Top Boko Haram Commanders Killed; Scores of Terrorists Annihilated in Sambisa Forest.

Following the sustained air and land bombardment of hideouts and dens belonging to Boko Haram terrorists in Sambisa forest, several of the terrorists including six top Boko Haram Commanders (Ameers) have been killed and their enclaves destroyed.

The artillery and air bombardments followed several weeks of warnings and pleading by the authorities of Operation Lafiya Dole to the terrorists to surrender and give up their murderous activities while they will be given safe passage, which was not heeded.

According to the Army, key Boko Haram terrorists killed in the joint operation during the joint Artillery and Air Force air bombardments include; Abu Dujana, Man Tahiru (Deputy to Boko Haram terrorists group Hisba leader), Man Chari, Malam Abdullahi (left) Abu Sa’ad (Right) and Goni Bamanga.

Making the disclosure in a statement, Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sani Usman said, “Based on received information about the location of some suspected top Boko Haram terrorists’ leaders, the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Air Force have been carrying out heavy artillery bombardments and air interdictions on registered targets that have killed a large number of Boko Haram terrorists including some of the group’s key leaders.

“The Nigerian Army artillery using Multi-Barrel Rocket Launchers has lobbed many rockets over the suspected location the terrorists’ leaders are hiding.

“Video clips obtained on battle damage assessment shows clear success of the exercise. More details of successes achieved will be made available as the operation continues.

“The Nigerian military would continue with the concerted onslaught on the reported Boko Haram terrorists’ location till they have been eliminated.”
